Every worker has the right to expect that all precautions are taken to ensure that he or she works in a safe and healthy environment.
This is the precept underlying HPS’s stringent HSE Policy.
A proactive reporting system is in place to identify unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviours and near misses.
Whilst there are highly specialised HSE professionals working on our projects, it is physically impossible for them to be everywhere at once.
Empowering people to stop work which they consider unsafe, actively engages all members of the projects in looking for potential problems.
In the simplest terms, the more people watching out, the more issues we can see.
After all, HSE is everybody’sresponsibility. In all our activities, we implement a safety policy that, following the indications of a specific procedure, is launched and communicated worldwide in all our projects and to all our employees and contractors: Stop Work Authority.
The outcome of the empowerment is of the increased cohesion, as it helps people to bond together and understand that everyone’s opinion is valued and appreciated.
